I think the first time i read about #BookDepository is through the internet. Previously I tried to buy some book from UK,it is related to fashion design, and the only place I know is Amazon and I am totally clueless how is the process will be.luckily I have a friend in UK and I ask him to help me buying the book.it turns out quite well but too expensive.
the book price is RM70 and then the postage is another RM70 (a bit shocked about the price la !!!) I did check about book depository but..... I still don’t have the courage to buy it through that website even though if i choose this website b4 i will save about 50% of the expenses due to BD free postage!!!.
Few month later I fall in love with another few fashion book. first, read about it through Amazon, still, I am clueless about how to buy the book using Amazon . then I decided to check out the book at book depository website.I already have an account there. and the best part of this website it also provided the price in RM. so quite easy la..
First try:
after done pick few book. I try to pay using my visa debit Maybank but somehow it was unsuccessful. Then I saw Paypal payment method. I am skeptical about using because I thought it will be quite difficult to use. but I am wrong!! with just few minute I set up my acc with Paypal then I link it with my debit, Walla in just about 10 minutes I am ready to buy the book from book depo!!! Yeah!!
I place my order on 21/12,After choosing the book and pay I receive an email confirmation. A few days later BD sent another email said the book is otw!!
The first book dispatched on 27dec
Second on 29dec
And third on 2 jan
But I know the waiting is still long because I read through forum its take 3 to 4 week to receive the book.so now the waiting…..`BTW have I mention for the first timer I such a big risk taker because my total expenses are RM400++
So fast forward now its been 14 days since my book dispatched from uk ..now I started to update weird stuff on my FB:
Two days later the first one arrive.
6 days later the book that dispatched on 2 jan arrive
I am very thankful for all the related forum I read. I am quit lucky because my book got to my hands quite fast.some of them I read, it can reach to 2 month of waiting. My limit is 1 month 15 days and If I still don’t get the parcel I already prepare to send an email to BD.
Take a note few thing if you choose to but from BD:
-my book arrival takes only two week maybe due to the fact I live at Batu caves Near KL. I read for those who live in other places it might take longer times.
-the mail is using regular pos bukan pos laju.so the parcel hanya akan ditinggalkan je di tempat terbuka if ur mail box is too small.in my case the postman left the parcel at my car.so for those who live in flat or house without big mailbox or no one regular in ur house to take the mail I not really recommend it. Because someone else might steal the parcel or the postman might put it in not suitable place.try to use ur friend or family address.
If you still dont get your parcel after long waiting just send them an email, I heard plenty of good review about BD customer service. I recommend this online book retailer for you guys, who one to buy book from over sea, sometimes the price is quite cheap too. For fashion student like me, this web is a haven.
